THE WSKG EDUCATION FUND The WSKG Education Fund was created as a vehicle through which educators could support the services they use. The idea was born at at meeting of WSKG's Education Advisory Committee (EAC), a council comprised of teachers, administrators, and library media specialists from across WSKG's viewing region who keep WSKG in touch with what is happening in the field and advise the station on educational policy and program offerings. The EAC created it as a way for educators, through their unions and professional organizations, to help support the WSKG services they use. The fund supports WSKG's continuing provision of high quality educational programs and program-related services, such as ITV broadcasts, staff development workshops, supplementary print resources, and more. Contributions to the WSKG Education Fund are solicited from unions of school employees, PTAs, education fraternities, education-based professional organizations, and school groups in the 86 school districts served by WSKG. To avoid duplicating other WSKG fundraising efforts, the Education Fund is focusing on organizations. All monies raised will be dedicated for use by WSKG's educational programming and program support services. The Fund will be administered by WSKG's Education Services with the guidance of the station's Education Advisory Committee, which will make recommendations on how monies are spent. The EAC will also determine (on an annual basis at the Committee's Spring meeting) what percentage of the Fund is set aside for long-term investment, based upon annual reports from WSKG's financial officer on its status. Direct costs incurred to administer the Fund will be taken from the Fund. For more information, contact
