Legendary Sax Man Al Gallodoro
on WSKG Radio
Al Gallodoro passed away Saturday
morning (10/4/08) at the age of 95. He had been an Oneonta
resident
since relocating there from New York in 1981. He had an amazing
career as a professional musician.
WSKG was fortunate
to host a an in-studio performance
and
interview
with Al and his pianist/manager Joann Chmielowski this past
April. Al plays his saxophone, and his bass clarinet. Once
he gets going, you'd never know how old he was at the time
of the recording. He spoke to host Scott Hollis at length
about his career as well. You can hear a rebroadcast of
this special
"Private Audience" program this Friday night
(10/10) at 9pm on WSKG Radio.
